For Mr. Gireesh Madavana and his wife, this home in Trivandrum was more than just a building; it was a homecoming. After spending over twenty years in Muscat, the couple wished to create a personal sanctuary back in their homeland. They entrusted Design Diary with this deeply meaningful project, tasking our team with shaping an environment that felt both modern and profoundly peaceful, marking a new chapter for their family in Kerala.
Project Overview
The core of our design brief was to create a harmonious blend of contemporary living and spiritual tranquility. The design narrative was inspired by the family’s journey, aiming for a space that felt worldly yet deeply rooted. The undisputed soul of the home is the bespoke wall art—a serene Buddha figure shaped directly onto a prominent wall, serving as a powerful focal point for mindfulness and peace. This central feature informed the entire design language of the house, from the use of an earthy, muted colour palette and warm, layered lighting to an open, uncluttered layout. The result is a home that serves as a calm retreat from the outside world, perfectly reflecting the homeowners’ desire for a peaceful and grounded life in Trivandrum.
