Mulakkal Vadakke Illam: Where Tradition Finds New Light
Mulakkal Vadakke Illam in Pandalam brings together a strong architectural character and the ease of everyday living. The exposed brick walls, sloping tiled roof and shaded verandah give the home a warm, grounded presence. A patterned courtyard opens up the space in front, while the tall gable window creates a striking view from outside and brings light into the kitchen within.
Inside, the design carries that warmth through wood finishes, carefully placed lighting and details chosen for daily use. The result is a home with a distinct identity, where the exterior and interiors feel like parts of the same story.
Project Overview
The design balances the character of the home’s architecture with comfortable, functional interiors. Brick, roof tiles and timber tones establish a rich visual palette, complemented by the geometric paving of the courtyard and patterned tiles used throughout the home.
In the kitchen, cabinetry follows the height and shape of the space, with the large gable window bringing in natural light above the work area. The living area uses a clean, custom TV unit and illuminated display shelves, while the dining space feels open and welcoming under its wood-finished ceiling. In the bedroom, streamlined wardrobes and a softly lit dressing area keep the design calm and practical.
Across the home, each detail has a purpose: to make Mulakkal Vadakke Illam feel cohesive, inviting and well suited to the people who live there.
